📢 How do I create announcements for my intranet homepage?

You can use announcements to share key updates with your team right on the employee side of the intranet. These messages are front-and-center, easily accessible, and customizable with images, emojis, links, and tokens.

🔍 Where Announcements Appear

Announcements are shown at the top of your employees’ intranet homepage. They display as swipeable cards (mobile) or clickable items (desktop), and clicking an announcement takes the employee directly to the full announcement view.


Activating the Announcement Widget

🔛 Click the "Widgets" button on your Intranet dashboard and toggle Announcements to "on":


✍️ Creating or Editing an Announcement

From the Announcements Dashboard, you can add or update up to 5 live announcements at a time. Each announcement can be personalized and targeted to a specific audience.

To create or edit an announcement:

  1. Click the Intranet dropdown, then choose Announcements.

  2. Click the "add" link to add a new announcement or the ✏️ pencil icon next to an existing one to edit it.

 

In the Update Announcement modal, customize the following fields:

Headline

  • Grab attention! This headline shows up in bold at the top of the card.

  • You can include personalization tokens like {{FIRST_NAME}} or {{ACCOUNT_NAME}} to make the message feel tailored.

Body

  • Add your announcement text.

  • Include emojis 🎉 or links to intranet items using the Insert Intranet Item button.

  • Use tokens for personalization.

  • Translate the content into any supported language with the Translate button.

Image (Optional)

  • Upload an image or GIF to make your announcement stand out.

  • Accepted formats include PNG, JPG, and GIF.

Visibility

  • Add segmentation rules to target the right employees.

  • Use fields like job title, department, or location to define visibility.

Scheduling

  • You can schedule when an announcement goes Live or when it should Unpublish.

  • Or, click Save immediately to activate it.


🔁 Managing Announcements

From the Announcements Dashboard, you can:

  • See the name, status, owner, and last modified date for each announcement.

  • Use the 🗑️ trash icon to delete an announcement.

  • Click Reorder to update the display order by adjusting the numerical values in the Sort Order column.


👀 What Employees See

On the employee intranet:

  • Announcements appear in the order set in your dashboard.

  • Employees can scroll or swipe through all active announcements.

  • Tapping or clicking an announcement opens its full details—jumping right to its section on the page.


📝 Best Practices

  • Keep headlines short and engaging.

  • Include a clear call to action (e.g., “Tap the link to learn more”).

  • Use images or emojis to catch the eye.

  • Personalize messages where possible with tokens.
